Combining Data

You can combine data from two separate data streams by merging the pipes. For example, if you want to combine data from two source files, you can merge two pipes into a single pipe, like this:

To combine data:

  1. Decide where you want to combine the data in the pipeline. In the above example, the output from two reader components (A and B) needs to be combined before the data records enter the Merge Data component.
  2. Select the output port on the first source component, drag the pipe, and connect it to the input port on the destination component (for example, connect the pipe from READ A to the input port on Merge Data).
  3. Click the output port on the second source component (READ B), and drag and drop the pipe to the input port on the destination component (Merge Data).
